In an attempt to pull out a few more hours of.SOMETHING from the game, I spent about 5 or 6 more hours with it, and now I've got a Titan, maxed with L10 weapons and equipment, about 2 million in cash, and pretty much the entire universe explored (expections going to the two systems that cannot be visited except via the actual campaign). Just avoid the location spoilers (as they'll destroy any motivation to explore) and don't use trading to level up (as you can level up way to fast). If you continue on exploring the rest of the galaxy, upgrading your ship as you go, you should manage around 50hrs by the time you hit Max level (plus have your L10 ship/equipment) and have every nook and cranny explored. The SP game isn't really done at that point though. What is the point of having level 10 weapons that is impossible to have or access in the single player game? Did they honestly think the game had enough content after the SP campaign that you would even WANT to try looking for them?Īnd don't even get me started on the ending that didn't feel like an ending.

The game had SO much potential and they pissed it away with stupid assed controls, poor to non-existant replay value, garbage faction effects, and a completely moronic leveling method that limits you completely in what you can use in the single play campaign. You can be an explorer, but once you've discovered every system (and why the fuck can't you buy a damn star chart?!) there's not much more to it except to find the 'hidden' stuff. Sure, you can be a trader, but that gets dull, damn fast, especially when you've found a 10 minute run that nets you about +250k completely legal and with little to no risk. Where's the escort missions? Where's the tracking down of a criminal from system to system? Where's the piracy (the REAL piracy, not the farce that it is, in FreeLancer)? Where's the ability to hire on as a merc? Where's the ability to hire mercs for protection? Where's the black ops type missions? What about getting hired on as a stellar cartographer? How can they even be called random missions anyway? Am I missing something? What is the difference between go here and kill this guy/group with or without backup for varying degrees of money. That alone seems far too little, but add in the fact that the 'random' missions are an oxymoron and the game just seems ludicrously shallow. Although I know of people who've done it in nearly half that time. 20 hours, and the single player campaign is done.
